GrowIN Gary is the City of Gary's land sale platform designed to support neighborhood revitalization, property redevelopment, and economic growth through partnerships with residents, developers, and community stakeholders. The platform serves as a central resource for individuals interested in investing in Gary and connecting with redevelopment opportunities throughout the city.
The platform provides easy access to property information and connects buyers, developers, and community members with opportunities that support sustainable growth. GrowIN Gary helps users identify properties that align with their investment and redevelopment goals.
As a pilot program, GrowIN Gary is currently focused on select neighborhoods that are already benefiting from private investment and City-led improvements. By concentrating efforts in these areas, the City can maximize impact, encourage additional redevelopment, and build momentum for future expansion into other neighborhoods.
GrowIN Gary is supported by Indiana Code 36-1-11-19 previously known as Indiana Senate Bill 232 https://iga.in.gov/laws/2026/ic/titles/36#36-1-11-19 , which helps simplify the property sale process and makes it easier to move properties into productive use. The program is designed to promote transparency by providing the public with access to important information related to property pricing and redevelopment opportunities.
Under Senate Bill 232, property pricing can be based on the average price per square foot of ten professionally appraised parcels throughout the city rather than requiring separate appraisals for every property. To ensure transparency, the ten appraisals used in determining pricing are posted on the GrowIN Gary website and available for public review.
