About Public Access TV

The City of Gary’s public access TV provides a platform for community engagement, transparency, and education by broadcasting local government meetings, community events, and educational programming. Our mission is to ensure that all residents have access to important city information and community content.

Today, many Gary residents are using online streaming services instead of cable. To stay connected, watch Gary TV Channel on AT&T and Comcast Xfinity. You can also watch public meetings on Gary’s official Facebook and YouTube pages.

Gary is Film Friendly

The City of Gary welcomes filmmakers to discover our diverse shooting locations - from our scenic Indiana Dunes and beaches to our historic buildings and urban streetscapes. We're committed to creating a film-friendly environment while ensuring both your production's success and public safety. Located just outside Chicago, Gary Indiana offers production teams cost-effective alternatives without sacrificing location variety or quality. Filming in the public right of way is exempt from permitting requirements.

All production companies must adhere to local ordinances governing film production within the City of Gary, and permits are required prior to production. Applications should be submitted at least fourteen (14) days before filming to avoid rush processing fees.
