Emergency Notification: Storm Recovery

The City of Gary is aware that residents are experiencing power outages and debris as a result of the significant storms on the evening of July 15th. Our top priority is to ensure the safety of our residents and streets.

Our General Services team has been working hard since 11pm on July 15th to clean up fallen trees that are obstructing traffic.

You can call (219) 881-1311 for our team to enter any service requests or you can visit gary.gov to enter online. Please follow these steps to submit requests online.

  1. Go to gary.gov
  2. Search for Constituent Services (311)
  3. Select Services and create a service request.
  4. Choose General Services and select the issue type.

• For fallen trees, call the City of Gary at (219) 881-1311

• For down power lines, call (800)-4NIPSCO

• For emergency sheltering, call (219) 501-8766

• If you are experiencing an emergency, please call 911
